Portsmouth Museums & Records Service holds a wide range of collections, all connected to the history of the city of Portsmouth and her people. From vehicles to paintings, photographs to industrial tools, ceramics to archaeological finds.
On this section of our website, we provide more information about these collections. The initial material, published here in July 2010, is about oral history recordings. You can read about different parts of our oral history collection, and search our database for particular subjects. Information about other collections will be added over the coming years.
In common with most museums, much of the collection is in store at any one time. However, it can still be accessed by the public, by prior appointment. If you are interested in seeing other parts of our collections, please see our Contacts page for more details.
Portsmouth Museums & Records Service is part of Portsmouth City Council.
